Family Line - Judd, Connecticut

One of the most interesting things about Philip Judd is that a letter he wrote to his wife, Mary in September 6, 1776 is now at the National Archives in Washington, DC. Philip's service in the American Revolution of the 13th Regiment of Militia -Connecticut at New York in 1776, Captain Fuller's Company.
He served in the French and Indian War under the King of England in June 1745 in an expedition between N. London and Cape Brenton Is.  In his service inthe Rev War he was taken prisoner in Canada on 15 Sept, 1776, shortly after the letter to Mary had been written, but escaped along with 19 others.  He served also in the War of 1812, and killed in battle near Buffalo on 30 Dec 1812 at the age of 27.
